Engaged by Central Coast Eyecare, ESD designed a new set of shop fronts for three connected tenancies and the interior spaces of Central Coast Eyecare. One that was sympathetic to the clients brand and the brief.
A contemporary optometry practice inspired by a mix of industrial and minimalist movements.
The shop fronts, clad with a black bevelled ‘subway’ tile and steel framed glazing systems add to the industrial aesthetic, along with enhancing the interiors and providing unobtrusive visuals too and from the space.
Internally, recycled brick, plywood veneer and wire pendant lights reflect the raw, industrial feel of the space and feature heavily in the custom joinery items and display units. To counter the raw component of these elements, high gloss elements have been incorporated through the means of dark mirrors and copper pipe. Purpose selected furniture implements soothing tones and textures, subtly integrating the existing branding with the new design. This new design crosses both modern and traditional architecture. A space enjoyed by all clientele.
New, traditional inspired shop fronts defined the entry point and allowed large glazed elements for optimal product display. The retail zone was flanked with fixed display units and a free-standing, high, reception counter encourages staff to engage with clients entering the shop. The Pre-test area was also specially designed behind a nib wall to allow staff to perform all necessary testing prior to the clients seeing the optometrist. This considered layout allows staff to perform testing whilst ensuring a visual connection is retained to the retail area.
