Eight Six Design where engaged by the owners to design a new concept store incorporating skate, street-wear, barber shop and a coffee shop. The brief called for an industrial ‘steam punk’ vibe with links back to the nearby skate park, The Bato Yard.
The selected tenancy sat within a Charter Hall run shopping centre, Bateau Bay Square, yet was a stand alone ‘Pad site’ meaning, it sat outside the common mall area. Being a pad site, it also meant the exterior design needed to be considered as part of the overall branding and interior theme.
Chater Hall, like most centres, have a very strict fit out guide and tenancy delivery process in order to obtain design approval. Acting as the Appointed Retail Designers, Eight Six Design managed all concept and final design approvals through the centres Tenancy Delivery Manager (TDM)
